Vedas

Vedas are large body of religious texts originating in ancient India. Composed in Vedic Sanskrit, the texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism. There are four Vedas: the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda.

The oral tradition of the Vedas consists of several pathas, "recitations" or ways of chanting the Vedic mantras. Such traditions of Vedic chant are often considered the oldest unbroken oral tradition in existence, the fixation of the Vedic texts as preserved dating to roughly the time of Homer.

There are four Vedas: the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda, It was more prevalent during the Vedic age where students were taught various subjects including 4 Vedas and EPICs ~ Ramaiyana and Bhagwad Gita, Vimana Shastra  and about how to live a cultured and disciplined life.

Chakras

Chakra is a Sanskrit word and it means wheel. The human body has 8 main chakras and it can be activated by mantras and meditation. Chakras are various focal points used in a variety of ancient meditation practices, collectively denominated as Tantra, or the esoteric or inner traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. The concept of the chakra arose in the early traditions of Hinduism.

Description of 8 chakras

1- Muladhar Chakra:

This chakra is related to the lowest part at the base of the spine between the anus and the genitals. It is related to human thoughts. The work of diverting attention from negative thoughts and bringing positive thoughts starts from here.

2- Swadhisthana Chakra:

This chakra is located in the spine just behind the genitals. It is related to the unconscious mind of man.

3- Manipur Chakra :

Its location is just behind the navel in the spinal cord. The entire digestive process (Gastragni) of our body is controlled by this chakra. Most of the internal activities of the body are also controlled by this chakra.

4- Anahata Chakra:

This chakra is present in the spine on the right side of the heart, just behind the middle part of the chest. The flow of blood to our heart and lungs and their protection is done by this chakra. The entire nervous system of the body is also controlled by this Anahata Chakra.

5- Vishuddhi Chakra:

It is located in the spinal cord, just behind the throat pit, behind the thyroid and parathyroid. Vishuddhi Chakra controls physical growth, hunger, thirst and temperature etc.

6- Ajna Chakra:

It is related to the pineal gland located above the spinal cord, just behind the area between the eyebrows. This chakra controls our willpower and tendencies. This Ajna Chakra is the center of complete knowledge of whatever we know or learn.

7- Mana Chakra- Mana Chakra (Bindu or Lalana Chakra):

This chakra is located in the hypothalamus. Its function is to establish a connection with the heart and create thoughts, rituals and secretions in the brain according to the mind and emotions, we can also call it the seat of the mind or emotions.

8 – Sahasrara Chakra:

This chakra is the center of all kinds of spiritual powers. It is related to brain and knowledge. This chakra is related to the pituitary gland.

The power present in these eight chakras (power centres) energizes, balances and activates the entire body. These measures to remove physical, mental disorders and diseases and to awaken the inner consciousness are called Yoga.

Relation of Yoga and Ashtachakra

The creation of yoga with Ashtachakra involves understanding the relationship between yoga and the concept of Ashta Chakra, which refers to the centers of energy in the body. Ashta Chakra is linked to the science of the body and is associated with subtle energies. Here's a brief overview:

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga: Ashtanga, meaning eight limbs, is a dynamic form of Hatha yoga with fixed postures organized into six series or levels.

Eight Limbs of Yoga (Ashtanga Yoga System): Patanjali's Yoga Sutras outline the eight-fold path leading to liberation, known as the Ashtanga Yoga System or 8 Limbs of Yoga.

Yoga's Origin and Development: Yoga has ancient origins, with concepts like Pancha Mahavrata and Ashta Magga representing early forms of yogic principles.

Understanding Ashtachakra involves delving into these interconnected aspects, acknowledging the integration of yoga philosophy, Ashtanga principles, and the energetic centers in the body.

Ayurveda is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, spirit, and environment. Yoga is an ancient wealth of wisdom, which is a gift passed down to us from our ancestors from over five centuries ago. It is unfortunate that in today’s world this tradition of yoga is only confined to the practice of asanas or physical postures. Though in reality, the meaning of the word yoga encompasses so much more.

Most of the diseases arise due to improper food habits and faulty life style besides hereditary and other reasons. Ayurveda is a system of evolved in India, which tries to bring harmony between man and nature by using holistic methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment.

Embarking on a spiritual path can catalyze profound changes in one's life, offering a sense of purpose and inner transformation.

Ashta siddhis are based on the five great elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space. Ashta siddhi is nothing but few incentives in the path of Realisation/Nirvana/Samadhi. Chakras in kundalini & aligning them in a straight line are what lead to Nirvana/samadhi.

Chakras refer to various energy centers in your body that correspond to specific nerve bundles and internal organs. The seven major chakras run from the base of your spine to the top of your head. If these energy centers get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.

The chakra system is a concept rooted in ancient Indian spiritual traditions. The power present in these chakras (power centres) energizes, balances and activates the entire body. These measures to remove physical, mental disorders and diseases and to awaken the inner consciousness are called Yoga.
